53 +/- 3.146 mm in the Palpable group and 5.96 +/- 3.039 mm in the ROLL group. Risk factors for failing to obtain negative margins were analyzed in both groups and were similar. These risk factors included histological grade, extensive intraductal carcinoma and c-erbB2 status.

Conclusion:

It is concluded that excision of nonpalpable breast tumors with the ROLL approach obtains similar results for margins as conservative surgery performed for palpable tumors.”
“The current study was aimed at screening the Bunium bulbocastanum for its antibacterial, antifungal, phytotoxic and haemagglutination activities. The crude methanolic extract and n-hexane fraction showed significant (89%) and good

activity (61%) against Staphylococcus aureus while the CHCl(3)fraction was moderately active against learn more S.aureus (53%), Moderate activitywas shown by the EtOAc fraction against B. subtilis (44%). This fraction was inactive against P.aerogenosa and S.aureus. The aqueous fraction showed significant activity against B. subtilis (85%), moderate against S.aureus(34 %) and E. coli (33%)and low activity against P.aerogenosa(29%). Our results for antifungal assay indicated that all the test samples were inactive against all the test fungi. The phytotoxic activity of the plant at 1000 and

100 mu g/ml was: crude methanolic extract (53.33 and 46.66%), n-hexane BMS-754807 molecular weight (46.66 and 26.66%), CHCl3 (20 and 6.66%), EtOAc (46.66 and 26.66%) and aqueous (40 and 33.33%). All the test samples. (crude methanolic extract and fractions) of B. bulbocastanum were unable to agglutinate RBCs of the human blood indicating that this species lack phytolectins.”
“Tribulus terrestris has long been used in traditional medicine to treat impotency and improve sexual functions in man. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of T.similar to terrestris extract in the treatment of polycystic ovary (PCO) in Wistar rat. Estradiol valerate was injected to 15 mature Wistar rats to induce PCO. Rats were randomly divided into three

groups (control, low-dose and high-dose groups) of five each and received 0, 5 and 10 mg of T.similar to terrestris extract, respectively.Treatments began on days 50 and 61 after estradiol injection; at the same time, vaginal smear was prepared. The ovaries were removed on day 62, and histological sections were this website prepared accordingly. The number and diameter of corpora lutea, thickness of the theca interna layer and the number of all follicles were evaluated in both ovaries. In comparison with the control group, the number of corpora lutea and primary and secondary follicles significantly increased following T.similar to terrestris treatment; however, the number of ovarian cysts significantly decreased. It can be concluded that T.similar to terrestris have a luteinizing effect on ovarian cysts, which may relate to its gonadotropin-like activity; also, a high dose of the extract can efficiently remove ovarian cysts and resume ovarian activity.
