Baseline concentrations of IL-6, IFN-gamma, TNF-alpha, and hs-CRP were generally comparable across treatment groups (Table 2). The pattern of elevations of all four inflammatory biomarkers showed an increase in levels by 24 h after infusion (Day 2, morning; Table 2; Fig. 3a–d); elevations in body temperature were also reported on the morning of Day 2 (Fig. 2a).
